Mircea Nedelciu: A Bio-bibliography

 

Mircea Nedelciu, novelist, essayist, journalist

b. 12 November, 1950, Fundulea, Ilfov, Romania.  d. 12 July, 1999, Bucharest, Romania

 

1973- After graduating in Philology (with specialties in English and French from the University of Bucharest), he worked at various jobs before finding employment at Cartea Românească in 1977

 

 

He contributed short stories, selections from novels, theoretical texts, literary criticism and opinion pieces to the majority of literary and cultural reviews in the country while he contributed to periodicals in France, Hungary, Poland and Germany as well.

 

His fiction includes:

·         Aventuri într-o curte interioară. Bucharest: Cartea Românească, 1979. Suggested English Title:  Adventures in an Interior Courtyard

 

·         Efectul de ecou controlat. Bucharest: Cartea Românească, 1981. Suggested English Title:  The Controlled Echo Effect.

 

·         Amendament la instinctul proprietăţii. (proză scurtă)  Bucharest: Editura Eminescu, 1983. Suggested English Title: Amendment to the Proprietary Instinct (short stories).

           

·         Zmeura de câmpie (roman împotriva memoriei). Bucharest: Editura Militară,  1984. Suggested English Title: Raspberry of the Field (a novel against memory).

 

·         Tratament Fabulatoriu. Bucharest: Cartea Românească, 1986. Suggested English Title:  The Confambulatory Treatment.

 

·         Şi ieri va fi o zi. Bucharest: Cartea Românească, 1989. Suggested English Title: And Yesterday Will Be Another Day.

 

·         (With Mircea Nedelciu, Adriana Babeţi, Mircea Mihăieş) Femeia în roşu (retro roman). Bucharest: Cartea Românească, 1990. Suggested English Title: The Woman in Red.

 

·         Tratament Fabulatoriu. Ediţia a II-a / second edition. Bucharest: ALL, 1996. Suggested English Title:  Confambulatory Treatment.

 

·         Aventuri într-o curte interioară. (integrala prozei scurte). Piteşti: Paralela 45, 1999.  Suggested English Title:  Adventures in an Interior Courtyard: The Collected Short Fiction of Mircea Nedelciu.

 

·         Zodia Scafandrului.  Bucharest: Compania, 2000. Suggested English title: Sign of the Deep-sea Diver.
