The
2009 Turin Book Fair will host a
Romanian stand at the “Spazio Book”, Pavilion 5, Lingotto Fiere.
Organized by the Romanian
Cultural Institute in Venice, the
stand will present offerings from 11
Romanian publishing houses and will be the setting
for book presentations and literary
workshops involving Romanian authors, their Italian translators,
publishers, professors of Romanian literature in Italy and literary
critics.
1989-2009:
Confirmations and debuts in Romanian
literature, will be the most
significant event. The workshop will focus on the last twenty years
of Romanian literature.
Novelists Petru Cimpoeşu, Filip Florian, Ana Maria
Sandu and Lucian Dan Teodorovici will be on hand along with their
translators who will read extracts from their works. OTP translator
Anita Natascia Bernacchia will read poetry and prose from Ioana
Nicolaie and Doina Ruşti, writers whose work has yet to be published
in Italy. Taking place at the Romanian stand, Confirmations
will start at 7.30 PM on May 16.
