Dan Lungu’s Baba Comunista / Sînt

Polirom, 2007) will appear in Bulgaria this month. The Bulgarian
edition follows publication in French, German, Italian and Hungarian.

nominated in two categories for the Jean Monnet Prize (France, 2008).
A film version is being prepared under the direction of Stere Gulea.
Lungu’s
other novels include Raiul găinilor
/ Hen Heaven, which has appeared in
French, German, and Slovak. Lungu’s short stories have appeared in
German (Klasse Typpen,
Vienna: Drava Verlags, 2007) and
are due out in Greek from Antonios Stamoulis Publishing.
