Joanna
Kornaś-Warwas (ur.1978),tłumacz
języka rumuńskiego, ukończyła w 2002 filologię rumuńską na
Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim w Krakowie broniąc pracę poświęconą
twórczości Mateiu Caragiale. Jest współautorkąRumuńsko-polskiego
słownika tematycznego
pod redakcją Constantina Geambaşu i Ewy Rossi (Wydawnictwo Paideia,
Bukareszt 2002)
Debiutowała
przekładem prozy Mircei Cărtărescu Travesti
(Wydawnictwo Czarne, Wołowiec 2007). Jakość przekładu docenił
Ireneusz Kania recenzując książkę słowami ‘piękna,
wirtuozersko napisana i wybornie przez młodą tłumaczkę przełożona
powieść’.
W roku 2008 Wydawnictwo Czarne wydało kolejną książkę Mircei
Cărtărescu, Dlaczego
kochamy kobiety
(rum. De
ce iubim femeile)

JOANNA
KORNAŚ-WARWAS
(b. 1978), a translator of Romanian literature, has published prose
by Mircea Cărtărescu and other writers. In 2002, she successfully
defended her MA thesis on Mateiu Caragiale and received her degree in
Romanian Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Joanna
Kornaś-Warwas has co-authored The Romanian-Polish Thematic
Dictionary, edited by Constantin Geambaşu and Ewa Rossi (Paideia,
Bucharest 2002).
Her
translation debut came in 2007 with Mircea Cărtărescu’s Travesti,
a novel published by Wydawnictwo Czarne. Ireneusz Kania, himself an
accomplished translator, wrote an appreciation of her work in a
review describing the book as a ‘beautiful and virtuosic novel that
has found an excellent translator in the young Kornaś-Warwas’.
Wydawnictwo Czarne has since published another book by Mircea
Cărtărescu, De
ce iubim femeile,
which appeared in 2008 in translation by Kornaśs-Warwas. She also
translated excerpts from
Sunt o babă comunistă!
by Dan Lungu and
Orbitor for
the publication Literature
in the World
(2008) and extracts from prose (Ş. Baştovoi, L.D. Teodorovici) and
poetry (I. Nicolaie, E. Vlădăreanu, C. Komartin, S.Popescu) for the
magazine Lampa
i Iskra Boża
(2008). In
